Backyard chickens in rural areas
Council has directed staff to update the Exotic Animal By-law 2012-045 to allow Clarington residents in rural hamlets, rural clusters, and the Village of Orono, to keep backyard chickens for the purpose of egg laying, subject to certain regulations. The By-law amendment will be brought to Council for review and approval in October. When we have more details we will update this news story.
