Business History:    Yoga Classes have been taught in Whitby for 13 years and in Orono for 6 years. The store was opened in my home in 2003. I have practiced aromatherapy for 20yrs, pottery for 10yrs and crocheting and sewing for 30+ yrs.

Kay Lycett is presently retired. Mack & Kisbee both have offices in Oshawa and handle all areas of law. The Orono office handles wills and estates and routine matters, helping out our long-time clients.

Business History:  Sunday’s Child is brand new to Orono. Jude Allison (decorator, vintage dealer) and Rachel Riordan (illustrator, designer) have combined forces and opened a shop with interesting things to buy, do or eat.

Business Philosophy: Together we are a creative force. If you are surrounded by interesting objects, lovely art and fun activities – with a bunch of other like minded people, life is much more fun. We want Sunday’s Child to be a creative hub in Orono. A place where someone is not only comfortable, but encouraged to come down, do a craft, relax or shop for a unique item alone, or with a group.

Business History:    The Durham Farmers’ County Co-op started on July 28, 1947 by a group of rural people to provide a consistent supply of products and services at a competitive price. From an agricultural base, Durham Farmers’ has expanded to be a major supplier of consumer goods and services.

Business Philosophy:
It is the mission of the Co-op to purchase, sell and generally deal in feed, seed, fertilizer, consumer goods and supplies. The board of directors, management, and staff serve its membership and community in the co-operative spirit, as stated in the letter of incorporation dated July 28, 1947.

What to expect at our Business:
A co-operative is controlled by the people it services. Its profits are reinvested into the co-operative or community directly benefiting its members.

Our stores are staffed by experienced people, dedicated to serving our members. We sell feed, horse and farm equipment, clothing, shoes, pet food, toys, hardware
etc.
